Based on the most advanced Ethernet/IP, VoIP and TDM-over-IP technologies, the JumboSwitch® Industrial Gigabit Ethernet Modular Switch is a Self-Healing IP backbone network solution that allows full integration with the increased reliability and network modernization of Smart Grid communications technologies.
The JumboSwitch seamlessly integrates Ethernet, Voice & Data and offers backward compatibility with legacy devices and forward compatibility with developing Ethernet standards, and Industrial Standards such as IEC61850-3, IEEE1613 for the power industry; and NEMA TS-2 for the transportation industry.
It offers all popular features and capabilities of standard Industrial Switches, but differs in that it also functions as a redundant Gigabit Ethernet fiber optic backbone and access switch (often called Multi-Service Access Platform or IP Mux in the telecommunications market).

- Remote Software/Firmware download capability
- Extensive Asset Management including ongoing collection of part/serial numbers and version numbers/upgrade dates for precise inventory management
- Remote Monitoring for “live” operating temperatures/power consumption of each interface card
